Alternator Exclusion – What Buyers Need to Know

The RSQ8 uses a 48-volt mild hybrid systemthat replaces the conventional alternator with a belt-integrated starter-generator (BSG) — a component that performs both the starting and electricity-generation functions of the conventional starter motor and alternator, while also providing a mild electric torque boost during acceleration and enabling engine-off coasting.

The BSG / alternator unit has been retained separately and is not included in this sale. All other components visible in the listing photographs are included. Buyers will need to either source a compatible RSQ8 BSG unit independently, or — if removing this engine from an existing RSQ8 — transfer the BSG from the donor vehicle to this engine prior to installation.

This exclusion is disclosed clearly and in full. The absence of the alternator/BSG does not affect the completeness or condition of the engine itself in any other respect, and should be straightforwardly addressed by any workshop undertaking the installation.
