Porsche 914/6 GT race engine for sale
Product Overview
For sale is a Porsche 914/6 GT 2.0-litre race engine, Type 911/03, serial number 6110043 — built to FIA Historic Group 4 specification by renowned air-cooled Porsche specialists Greatworth Classics of Greatworth, near Banbury. The engine was constructed for a 914/6 GT race car project that was sold part-completed before the engine could be fitted or run in the car, leaving this unit unused and available in its fully built state.
Following its build, the engine was taken to BS Motorsport — one of the United Kingdom’s most highly regarded historic Porsche race engine builders — for an initial commissioning and setup session on their dedicated dynamometer. The engine was run to 90% throttle and RPM, performed very well throughout, and presents no oil leaks. Build photographs are available and can be supplied to serious buyers on request.
The engine is based on an excellent 1971 911T crankcase brought fully up to S specification, featuring a comprehensive list of new, uprated, and competition-specific components throughout. It is a straight fit into any 914/6 engine bay and, with a change of tinware, is compatible with the 904, 906, and other mid-engine Porsche configurations. 911 headers and back box are also available separately if required.
